Wisdom Teeth

In many ways, wisdom teeth are a right of passage. Most people get wisdom teeth between the ages of 17 and 21. Wisdom teeth are located behind the morals in the back of the mouth. You have both a bottom and top set of wisdom teeth. Each set of wisdom teeth may come in at a different time, at the same time, or may not appear at all. The appearance of your wisdom teeth feels different for everyone. Some people feel no pain at all because their wisdom teeth don’t affect the rest of teeth and grow in normally. For other people, the wisdom teeth can come in crooked, cause pain as they grow in, or take up space in their mouth causing their existing teeth to shift.

What To Do About Your Wisdom Teeth

Lee, Bonfiglio, Vesely & Associates of Annapolis will properly monitor your teeth during your biannual dental visit. They will assess what to do with your wisdom teeth when they begin to appear. Regularly scheduled dental cleaning and a comprehensive exam help dentist keep tabs on how your wisdom teeth are growing, how they are affecting the rest of you teeth, and whether or not you will need to have them extracted (pulled).

Wisdom Teeth Removal

Some patients will need to have their wisdom teeth removed due to factors, such as overcrowding teeth, infection, tooth decay, braces application, consistent pain, and shifting teeth.
