Dr. Lee or one of the highly trained associates at Lee, Bonfiglio, Vesely and Associates Cosmetic Dentistry, will use a local anesthetic to numb the affected area around the tooth or teeth to be filled. Once the decay has been removed, the area to be filled will be prepared by making sure it is clean of all bacteria and debris. Most fillings have multiple layers and require color matching. The dentist will match your filling to the color of your teeth. A blue light (curing light) is used to harden the layers. Then the filling will be shaped and trimmed of any excess material and polished. The procedure can be completed with one office visit.
