How many hours a day should you wear partial dentures?
You should wear your at all times when eating and speaking, ideally for at least eight hours per day. It will help prevent sore spots on your gums and jawbone by giving them time to adjust to the dentures. Taking them out at night will give your gums a much-needed break. You should also take them out before you eat, drink, brush your teeth, or floss.
How do you keep food from going under partials?
If you wear partial or full dentures, you may have trouble chewing because food can get stuck between the dentures and the gum. This could cause irritation and discomfort on a regular basis. A denture adhesive creates a seal between the denture and gum, and may help to correct the issue.
What foods can you not eat with partial dentures?
After getting partial dentures patients should avoid particularly sticky foods such as gum, peanut butter, and candies. We also recommend staying away from tough meats and any food that is difficult to bite into, such as an apple.
Do partial dentures hurt?
